San Diego Venture Group Announces BidMyAtoZ as Semifinalist for Ninth Annual 'PitchFest'

Three finalists to be selected to present at a live competition on December 3, 2008

SAN DIEGO, Oct 21. The San Diego Venture Group (SDVG), an association supporting San Diego's entrepreneurial and venture capital community, today announced BidMyAtoZ as one of the semifinalist companies for the Ninth Annual PitchFest Business Plan Competition. The 10 semifinalist companies will make their pitches to a panel of judges in early November, and the judges will choose three finalists to present at the competition on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 5:30pm - 9:00pm at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla.

The competition was open to any firm based in Southern California that has raised less than $2.5 million in institutional venture capital. A screening committee of local business advisers and venture capitalists reviewed each submitted application and narrowed the field to the 10 semifinalists. At the event on December 3rd, the finalists will present to an anticipated audience of 350. Based on a ballot vote from the audience, the SDVG will present the winner with a $20,000 check.

"PitchFest is an opportunity for young companies in Southern California to present their business plan to leading venture investors, fellow entrepreneurs and business advisers," said Peter Shaw, PitchFest committee chairman and principal for Shaw Management Advisors Int'l LLC. "The applicants who made it to the semifinals will present their pitch to a panel of top-tier venture capitalists from San Diego and Orange County. You simply can't buy that kind of access."
